My wife and I are teachers and have rented numerous places in Florida during our spring break for many years. Westwind is by far our favorite! We stayed here the last two years and already have reservations for next year. The facility is ideal…a very quiet beautiful gulf front beach, immaculate and not a high rise. Although quiet and secluded, Westwind is a very short drive to restaurants, shopping, groceries and fun places to visit. The owner is wonderful and pride of the long term family ownership is evident. If you are able to get a reservation here do not hesitate! You will not want to be anywhere else in the future and will find that the only thing that you will not like is having to leave at the end of your stay!

Great place, very nice, friendly people, very clean and quiet.

People, MY family has been spending our vacation time here for over 50 years, having also traveled down the east coast and back up the west till we landed here. To say it’s special is gross understatement. To say the owners are is also; they built the place with their own hands and still maintain it as if they still lived there. In fact they live right down the beach and have become dear friends! I now look forward to sharing the wonders of this beach with my grandchildren every summer, or just with my sister, or my Mom who now lives nearby, or any friends and cousins who have a spare weekend…
Well, what can we say. We have been coming to Casey Key for over 12 years. Casey Key became our choice after an exhaustive search for “the place” in Florida. That search was a multi-year endeavor by vehicle down the coast from St. Augustine to Key West, and back through Everglades and up the Gulf Coast. Lots of nice places, but some are too touristy and some are too far from civilization. Casey Key was another place we were driving through and stopped to spend the night. We have never gone anywhere else since.
We actually found West Wind Apartments by accident; we used to stay at another place-very secluded and very private. But sadly the owner passed away and the place changed… So, once, upon our arrival, there were no vacancies, hence the search for an alternative and voila!!! We struck gold!!! West Wind Apartments!!!
Immaculate (my wife is a neat freak), attentive-yet not in your face, very hospitable but with a delicate balance of friendliness, politeness and tact. Reasonable-if not downright a bargain. I am not afraid to say this, since we have been coming there for over eight years and the prices have not kept up with inflation. This is not a chain; this is a property being owned/managed by real people who never wanted to be real estate magnates… This is their home too, and you feel it.
The only reason we say these truths is out of respect for the management… I realize that this place is a gem and am looking forward to sharing it with like minded people.

Love, love, love, Westwind Apartments. Our family has been coming Westwinds for 30+ years. First my parents, then myself and family now my grandkids. I can’t imagine any sweeter spot in Florida. The location is perfect. Being on the beach is the best, walk out the door and stand on the sand. Walk to the jetty, picking up sharks teeth and shells and occasional sand dollars. Seeing dolphins and manatees, awesome! Sunsets are amazning. The apartments are extremely clean and very serviceable. View from the patio is stunning. Everything you need when on vacation. You can’t beat this private feeling retreat. Shhhhh don’t tell everyone!
This secluded vacation spot is like having your own private beach playground right on the Gulf of Mexico. Our family has been enjoying the West Wind on Casey Key for over 40 years and we have never been disappointed with our stay. This beachfront property is the ideal location to enjoy a wide range of coastal activities including swimming, biking, golf, tennis, fishing, watching wildlife, shell hunting, dining, or museum trips. The clean and comfortable West Wind has everything you need for a relaxing getaway and the owners serve as the perfect hosts. Once you enjoy the West Wind, you will keep coming back too.
I love this place! It’s really clean and comfortable with cheery furnishings and every amenity you need. The staff is great and the beach is pristine and uncrowded. I love the view from the Florida room where you can watch the sunset and dolphins. I would be tough to find a more relaxing place to enjoy a Florida Beach vacation.
I have stayed at West Wind several times. I think it’s the best place on earth to stay at the beach!!!
The units are so immaculate, GREAT views of the beach and water, only steps from your door to the water.
Great location close to restaurants, Shopping, the interstate and Airports.
Ill be back this summer.

Twenty-one years ago I found the West Wind and have gone there every year since. Each year it gets better and is like coming home. It is a wonderful location. The apartments are spacious, well-equipped and comfortable. Everyone is so friendly. I can’t imagine going anyplace else.
We have been going here in October and March for several years. The beach and accomodations are terrific and the service is outstanding. Great spot, quiet but everthing you would want within a 10 minute drive.
My wife and I discovered the West Wind Apartments over 20 years ago—it became our second home whenever we could get away to Florida. It is a modest and hidden gem located in a non commercial area, owned and meticulously maintained by a caring “old Florida” family. Each unit sits immediately on the beach and the Gulf of Mexico with “in your face” sunsets. They are also literally steps away from the Intracoastal Waterway and the Venice Jetty, and lots of fishing and boating activities. Management is attentive and reliable. There are other good places on Casey Key, but this one is very special.
